In order to save column height and to reduce the number of internals in a column it is advisable to combine the tasks of different internals.

For various separation tasks in columns it is necessary to charge several tower packing stages with different liquids. Between such column stages there is both a support grid for the packing and a collection tray for the downrunning liquid necessary.

The Combi-element developed by RVT Process Equipment GmbH combines these functions in one part.

Additional advantages of this part are low pressure drop and the reach of very low weeping rates. It is recommendable to put the Combi-element onto a ring channel inside the column. Depending on column diameter there could additional support beams be necessary.
